Even a small team turns the “I” into a “We”. Learn to delegate work. Learn to be open to new ideas. Brainstorm a name for the people on the team. (Not “Bill’s Team”, but the “Earth Savers” or “Climate Champions”.)
No, not your phone battery, your battery. What will leave you refreshed and ready to take on that action step you’ve been avoiding? For many it is a quiet place in nature, a bike trail, yoga, or sitting by the water. Where do you get recharged? Give yourself at least 30 minutes every so often to relax, let go of all the pressure, frustration, or anxiety and just be for a while. Listen with your heart.
Find someone who is on the same path as you are on, trying to see a project through, and meet with them on a regular basis. The key is to each plan what you will do before you meet again, and put that in writing, so you each have it. Then when you meet, simply ask each other in turn, “How did it go?” Tell your goal buddy what you got done, and what is still to do. It is not about judging, it is about having someone who you are accountable to. They will help you remember that you are making progress. They know what you are going through. You will want to be able to say, “I got it all done.” so much that you may surprise yourself at how creative you can get to meet your goals.
First, an Action Circle is simply a small group of people who have worked through a course at the same time, that commit to meeting as a group on a regular basis to support each other in their climate action projects. Several have formed from the courses that the Pachamama Alliance and Pachamama communities have given. The group is autonomous, it rotates the roles of host, note taker, etc., and it decides how often it meets. It can be your superpower.
Somewhere along this journey, we all get stuck. You are still right where you are meant to be. To access coaching on any aspect of your Climate Action Journey Board project just email David at KCDrawdown@gmail.com. (The first hour is free!)
